The Scripture goes beyond just a list of 'dos' and 'don'ts' and provides detailed instructions on how we should live. Everything we need to know how to live a Christian life is in the Scriptures. However the Scripture does not specifically address every situation we face in life. If so, how is the Scripture sufficient for every ethical dilemma we face? This is where Christian ethics come in. Ethics is defined as 'a set of moral principles, the study of morality' therefore, Christian ethics will be the principles derived from the Christian faith that are the standards by which we act.
Although God's Word does not address every situation we face throughout our lives, but it provide standards for how we should respond in situations where no specific instruction is available.
